Parental Cost Policy for JOM Eligible Students attending the WHA School for the 2011-1012 School Year
OBJECTIVE: To promote that highest standards of achievement in education, physical, mental, social and cultural development for all Native American Youth between educators, homes, schools and the community.
Eligibility: JOM students must be members of federally recognized tribes and/or at least 1/4 blood quantum (documented) descendant of a federally recognized tribe. Students must be approved by the Leech Lake Indian Education and Enrollment Division.
Procedure for Reimbursement: Parents/Guardians must complete the Educational Support Reimbursement Form, w9 and attach the original receipt for supplies/activity fees to be reimbursed.
The Education Support Reimbursement Form can be obtained at the Indian Ed. office.
Eligible Expenses
Field trips for eligible students at $20 per student (Kindergarten - 4th Grade)
Reimbursement for student participation/supplies needed for the following classes:
Life Skills Class.................FACs $20.00 (Middle/High School
Shop Supplies (wood, tools, etc.) not to exceed $50.00 per student
(High School)
Home Ec. or Sewing Classes - not to exceed $50.00 per student
(Middle/High School)
Driver's Ed Classes - $90.00 per student (High School)
Science or Environmental Projects to include material or supplies
needed per class - not to exceed $50.00 per student (Middle/High School)
Sports Fees - $75.00 per sport per school year
Cultural Supplies - not to exceed $50.00 per student on an individual basis.
Annual School Pictures - Individual packets at $20.00 per student
High School Senior expenses:
Not to exceed $125.00 towards class ring, announcements, pictures.
$35.00 for ACT Testing Fee per student
Summer academic fees - Contribution not to exceed $70.00 per student.
Sports or Activity Participation Fees $75.00
Gym Shoes $75.00 per student per year for grades 5-12
$50.00 per student per year for grades K-4
School Supplies Reimbursement - no more than $15.00 per child.
